The Green Valley Gators will be taking part in a tournament against the Boulder City Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Green Valley's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Boulder City's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Green Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Shadow Ridge, who was ranked 16th at the time (Green Valley was ranked 14th). The Gators came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 8-4 on Friday.
Maddix Kaye made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Kaye was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025.

In other pitching news, Gavin Christensen looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Dylon Murphy was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Jet McNelis was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Boulder City waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Grizzlies.
Like Green Valley, Boulder City also got a great game from a two-way player: Gavin Robinson. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Robinson was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gauge Rhodes, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Cael Starley, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Boulder City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Green Valley's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Boulder City, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
Green Valley's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's contest. The Gators have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Boulder City, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Green Valley continue to outrun the ball?
Green Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Boulder City in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, sneaking past 9-8. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
