After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Salpointe Catholic, Walden Grove was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Sahuaro Cougars 5-4. The victory continues a trend for the Red Wolves in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.

Alec Jimenez was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two triples. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Martin, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Walden Grove's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-5. As for Sahuaro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-10-1.

Walden Grove will have a chance to go back-to-back against Sahuaro: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
