St. Francis has enjoyed the comforts of home their last six games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Cudahy Packers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Francis has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 306 points over their last four contests.
Even though St. John's Northwestern Military Academy scored an imposing 62 points last Thursday, St. Francis still came out on top. St. Francis took down St. John's Northwestern Military Academy 81-62.
Cameron Nerby was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with seven rebounds. Those 29 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jaron Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Cudahy, who are still winless after their eighth game. They took a serious blow against St. Thomas More last Friday, falling 101-50. While losing is never fun, Cudahy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while St. Thomas More is ranked eighth).
St. Francis now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Cudahy, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-8.
St. Francis suffered a grim 75-54 defeat to Cudahy in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can St. Francis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
