Basketball Recap: Beach Victorious

There's no place like home for Beach, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They slipped by the Long County Blue Tide 47-46 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 66-55 loss the last time these two teams met.

Beach had a senior duo take command as Brandon Castelow went 6 for 13 on his way to 14 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals and Chandler Reid went 6 for 15 on his way to 14 points and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Castelow has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Newton, who posted ten points.

Beach pushed their record up to 5-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Long County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Beach and Savannah Country Day will compete for holiday cheer at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Long County, they will venture away from home to take on Wayne County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wayne County will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Long County surely won't give up without a fight.
