The Rangeview Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 60-48 to Regis Jesuit. The match was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but Rangeview was outscored by Regis Jesuit in the second.
Rangeview lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zachary Butler, who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Butler scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenny Black-Knox, who scored 12 points.
Rangeview struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Regis Jesuit to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eric Fiedler, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Fiedler's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lucas Dickinson, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Rangeview's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Regis Jesuit, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rangeview will take on Columbine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Allowing an average of 51 points per game, Columbine has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this game. As for Regis Jesuit, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Cherry Creek at 7:00 p.m.
