The Scammon Bay Eagles had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They came out on top against Chevak by a score of 77-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Scammon Bay was led to victory by Josiah Sundown and Stewie Sundown. Sundown scored 26 points, while Sundown scored 28 points. Sundown hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Albert Yunak, who scored 12 points.
Scammon Bay pushed their record up to 9-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.0 points per game. As for Chevak, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Scammon Bay does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Chevak will head out on the road to face off against Unalakleet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
