The Croatan Cougars can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They really took it to West Carteret for the full four quarters, racking up a 89-58 win at home. The score was close at the half, but Croatan pulled away in the second half with 52 points.
Leading Croatan to victory were Jaden Hilliard and Trey Jones. Hilliard dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 assists, while Jones shot 4-for-6 from long range and dropped a double-double on 39 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Luke Green, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Croatan and bumps their season record up to 16-4. As for West Carteret, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Croatan will play host again and welcome the Bulldogs, where tip off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dixon is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for West Carteret, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Vikings at 8:00 p.m. One thing working in White Oak's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matches.
