Union County and Hilliard are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but likely not for long. The Fightin' Tigers will be playing at home against the Red Flashes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Union County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
Union County had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Bell on Tuesday. The Fightin' Tigers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 14-4 win. The Fightin' Tigers have beaten the Bulldogs the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Union County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Hilliard won against Providence School on Monday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Red Flashes sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over First Coast. Winning may never get old, but the Red Flashes sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Union County's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Fightin' Tigers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Hilliard, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Union County continue to outrun the ball?
Union County suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Hilliard when the teams last played back in February. Will the Fightin' Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
