Daniel Turner made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ty Hinton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cooper Hall, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.
North Johnston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastern Wayne didn't got any hits.
Meanwhile, Princeton got the win against Beddingfield on Tuesday by a conclusive 12-1.
Macon Boone was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Branson Flynn was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Princeton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for North Johnston, their record now sits at 16-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. North Johnston has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Princeton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
