Baseball Recap: Garber Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Garber never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Bridgeport Bearcats as they made off with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Dukes, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Garber got a massive performance out of Nolan Collins, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two runs gave Collins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Brey, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Garber always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .760. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Garber pushed their record up to 14-8-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Bridgeport, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garber will venture away from home to challenge All Saints Central at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bridgeport, they will take on Bentley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Bearcats surely won't give up without a fight.
