The Warner Robins Demons had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 92-78 victory over Northside. Given Warner Robins' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Northside is ranked 332nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Northside lost, one person who can't be blamed is Keron Milton jr.. Despite the final result, he scored 34 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Milton jr. has scored all season. Chastan Brown was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Even though they lost, Northside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. This was only their ninth loss (out of 13 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Warner Robins is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Northside, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
Warner Robins will head out on the road to square off against Union Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northside, Northside and Lee County will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
