The Durango Demons will face off against the Bayfield Wolverines at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Durango will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
On Saturday, Durango needed a bit of extra time to put away Grand Junction. They won by a run and slipped past the Tigers 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Demons have posted since March 20th.

Austin Romero made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other pitching news, Coen Anderson looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Durango got a big performance out of Ollie Peterson, who earned two runs and five stolen bases. Those five stolen bases gave Peterson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Clark, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Bayfield hadn't done well against Montrose recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Wolverines had just enough and edged out the Red Hawks 13-11. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wolverines' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
The team relied heavily on Micah Cornelia, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and three RBI. Tavian Box was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs.
Bayfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Durango's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Bayfield, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
Everything went Durango's way against Bayfield in their previous meeting back in March, as Durango made off with a 9-2 victory. Will the Demons repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
