Baseball Recap: Preston Wins Going Away Against Kimberly

After losing to Kimberly the last time they met, Preston decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Indians put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 14-4 win on Thursday.

Aidyn Thomson made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Janson Hollingsworth and Treston Day did most of the damage at the plate: Hollingsworth went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Day went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave Hollingsworth a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Garrett Moyle, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Preston's record is now 2-3. As for Kimberly, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Preston will challenge Bear Lake at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Kimberly and Buhl, As for Kimberly, after both having extra time off, will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field at 3:30 p.m. on the 31st.
