The Mendon Unity Mustangs lost against the Illini West Chargers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Mendon Unity fell to Illini West 51-45.
Illini West's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Haydon Rankin led the charge by scoring 9 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Colby Robertson, who scored 12 points along with 3 steals.
Mendon Unity's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Illini West, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-3.
Mendon Unity will head out on the road to face off against Seymour at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Illini West, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Astoria/VIT at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
