The Ord Chanticleers's game on Tuesday was all tied up 16-16 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 42-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ravenna. Ord was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bluejays apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Ord lost, one person who can't be blamed is Claire Cargill. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Marin Reilly, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Ord now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Ravenna, their win bumped their record up to 5-13.
Ord will head out on the road to take on the Bison at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Central City is ranked 93rd, while the Chanticleers are ranked 117th). Ravenna will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st. Hopefully St. Paul focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
