The Jefferson County Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Franklin County Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Jefferson County is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Jefferson County came up short against South Pike and fell 43-34. While losing is never fun, Jefferson County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while South Pike is ranked 106th).
Meanwhile, Franklin County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 37-24 to South Pike.
Jefferson County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Franklin County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.
Jefferson County suffered a grim 56-34 defeat to Franklin County in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Jefferson County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
