After soaring to 67 points the game before, the Auburn Rockets were a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. The New Year welcomed they with a 72-21 whooping from Millbury. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Auburn has scored all season.
Anthony Phillipo continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Millbury, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Vaccaro, who scored six points along with six assists.
Auburn's loss was their third straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Millbury, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Auburn will take on Leicester at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Leicester is ranked 223rd, while Auburn is ranked 227th). As for Millbury, they will play host again and welcome Shepherd Hill Regional, where tip off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
