Marquette Catholic was led to victory by Livia Balling and Marissa Pleasant. Balling scored six points along with ten rebounds and three steals, while Pleasant scored 15 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jiselle Chabes, who scored seven points along with six assists.
Hanover Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bridget Noel, who scored five points along with six rebounds. Skylar Ferry was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Hanover Central struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Marquette Catholic's win bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Hanover Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.
Marquette Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Whiting at 9:00 a.m. on December 29th. Whiting will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Marquette Catholic is ranked 76th). As for Hanover Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Hammond Bishop Noll at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
