The Mullins Auctioneers will take on the Manning Monarchs at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Mullins has given up an average of 15.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Mullins is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Lake City on Friday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 19-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Auctioneers in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.
Mullins saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kryshon Davis, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Manning waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Stallions. That's two games straight that the Monarchs have won by just one run.
The team relied heavily on Lovell Stevenson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Baxter, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Manning kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lee Central only managed six.
Mullins' loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Manning, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mullins has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Manning struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Mullins might still be hurting after the 20-3 defeat they got from Manning in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Auctioneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
