Basketball Recap: Cedar Creek Takes a Loss

Cedar Creek lost against Round Rock Westwood back in November, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cedar Creek Eagles came up short against the Round Rock Westwood Warriors, falling 61-40. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 703rd, while the Warriors are ranked 37th).

When it comes to explaining why Cedar Creek lost, don't look at Kenji Franklin. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 14 on his way to 27 points and five rebounds. Franklin's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Phineas Koplin, who posted five points and five rebounds.

Cedar Creek has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Round Rock Westwood, the win keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.

Cedar Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-55 loss against Brenham on the 6th. As for Round Rock Westwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-36 victory against Vista Ridge on the 6th.
