The Mary Persons Bulldogs came tearing into Friday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Upson-Lee 52-37. 52 seems to be a good number for Mary Persons as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Mary Persons got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zaria Wilson out in front who scored 20 points along with three steals. Wilson has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Zoey Shannon, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Mary Persons has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for Upson-Lee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.
Mary Persons will head out on the road to challenge the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Upson-Lee, they will be playing at home against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
