Meridian is 8-1 against East Butler since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. Hopefully Meridian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, Meridian came up short against Freeman and fell 43-30. While losing is never fun, Meridian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while Freeman is ranked 34th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jaala Stewart, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaira Niederklein, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, East Butler entered their tilt with Mead with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. East Butler strolled past Mead with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 23-6.

Everything went Meridian's way against East Butler in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as Meridian made off with a 51-29 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Meridian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
