It was a good run, but the Heritage Academy Gateway Heroes unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 58-37 walloping at the hands of Ridgeline Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Heritage Academy Gateway has scored all season.
Heritage Academy Gateway lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Talon Lemieux, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Heritage Academy Gateway's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-2. As for Ridgeline Academy, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0.
Heritage Academy Gateway and Empower College Prep will face off at 4:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Empower College Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Heritage Academy Gateway is ranked 36th). As for Ridgeline Academy, they will be playing at home against BASIS - Peoria at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
