Decatur Central waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Lawrence Central Bears as they made off with a 14-3 victory. While the Hawks didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Baylie Polston made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Decatur Central let Ashyr Lawson and Kaylynn Napier run wild.
