Sandwich had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 7-8  on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Plano Reapers by a score of  6-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  6-5  on April 8th.
 Brooklyn Marks made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits (and only one walk). Marks was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-4 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in March of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Kayden Corneils was  excellent,  going 2-for-4 with one  triple and one  run. Another player making a difference was  Jillian Freemon, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI.
 Sandwich  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  strikeout total in five consecutive  contests.
As for Plano, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13-1 record  this season. Having soared to a lofty 29  runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Plano's side,  Chesney Schimandle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and four unearned) runs on ten hits. Schimandle has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Plano saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Chloe Rowe, who  went 2-for-3 with one  RBI.
