Amaris Perez made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alexia Meza, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Meanwhile, while North Salinas put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Soledad. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Aztecs. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Iliana Perez made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Perez was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Audri Palmer was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Irie Williams was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
North Salinas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The win made it two in a row for North Salinas and bumps their season record up to 14-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Everett Alvarez, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.
Everett Alvarez skirted past North Salinas 1-0 in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
