Meanwhile, Excel Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Trion. While losing is never fun, Excel Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 488th, while Trion is ranked 77th).
Calhoun's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Excel Christian Academy, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-9 record last season and are now at 2-8.
Calhoun took their victory against Excel Christian Academy in their previous matchup on December 8th by a conclusive 85-62. With Calhoun ahead 51-31 at the half, the game was all but over already.
