Chartiers-Houston hit Our Lady of the Sacred Heart with a seven-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Chargers came up short against the Buccaneers, falling 11-2. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Buccaneers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Seton LaSalle's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They didn't even let Carlynton on the board, marking the Rebels' second-straight 15-0 shutout. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Gianna Ferrieri made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kamyia Morris, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. Mariya Chajkowski was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Seton LaSalle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .619. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Seton LaSalle pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
