 Midway's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Lathan Whisenton, who rushed for 79 yards and two  touchdowns. Whisenton has been hot recently, having  posted two or more  rushing touchdowns the last four times he's  played.  Andrew McNair was another key passer, throwing for 127 yards and one  TD.
  Jaylen Mason had another great game (as  he tends to do), rushing for 156 yards and one  score while picking up 7.1 yards per carry for Harker Heights. With that strong performance,  Mason is now averaging an impressive 110.2  rushing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of  Hudson Humble, who threw for 203 yards and one  touchdown while completing 82.6% of his passes.
Having lost for the first time  this season, Midway  fell to 4-1. As for Harker Heights, they now  have a winning record of 3-2.
 Coming up, Midway is taking a road trip to  take on Shoemaker  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Wolves have now posted at least 31  points  every time they've taken the field this season. As for Harker Heights, they will welcome Killeen  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
