The Mantachie Mustangs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 62-7 loss at the hands of Winona. Mantachie was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-0.
Winona's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zaishun Nash led the charge by rushing for 45 yards and two touchdowns, while also picking up 47 receiving yards. Nash hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games. Fred Clark got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Winona's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Tyler Lockhart and his two sacks.
Mantachie has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Winona, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Mantachie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Winona will square off against North Panola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Panola is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
