Softball Recap: Atwater Has No Trouble Against El Capitan

While Atwater put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for El Capitan. The Falcons blew past the Gauchos 16-0. Considering the Falcons have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Atwater got a massive performance out of Lauren Gonzales, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave Gonzales a new career-high. Mia Hendrickson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Atwater's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for El Capitan, they are on a 28-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.
