There's no place like home for the Simeon Wolverines, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They blew past Kelly 47-14 at home. The victory was just what Simeon needed coming off of a 69-36 loss in their prior game.
Simeon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mariyah Robinson led the charge by scoring six points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Robinson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dijiona Berrien, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
The victory got Simeon back to even at 7-7. As for Kelly, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.
Simeon will head out on the road to take on Kenwood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Kenwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Wednesday. As for Kelly, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lindblom at 5:00 p.m. Lindblom has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 27.
