Milton extended their losing streak to 17 on Monday, dropping them down to 0-17. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jersey Shore Bulldogs. Even if the Black Panthers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Louis Williams and Brody Locke did some serious damage despite the final result: Williams went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Locke went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Gabe Engel was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
As for Jersey Shore, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-12. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Jersey Shore's side, Mason Winter made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Winter a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Jersey Shore got a massive performance out of Hunter Enders, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Enders has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Mazden Lupton, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Looking ahead, Milton will head out on the road to face off against Danville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ironmen have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.89 runs per game on average), something the Black Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. Jersey Shore does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
