El Segundo moved up to 220 from 263 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Pioneer. The Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Oak Park 59-40.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, El Segundo beat the Eagles 59-40. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
The Eagles' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Lars Nootbaar threw for 268 and 3 touchdowns and Nick Karsseboom had 219 yards receiving. On the ground Ryan Kelly chipped in 81 yards. Connor Underwood helped El Segundo's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 35 yards.
Karsseboom had an awesome week catching the football as El Segundo topped Oak Park. He caught 4 passes for 219 yards.
Nootbaar put up the best numbers through the air as the Eagles bested Terry Shorten's team.
El Segundo's Nootbaar and Jamie Stewart led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Nootbaar has thrown for 2,578 yards this season, while Stewart has 51 catches for 1,165 yards. Bobby Wilson from Torrance leads the league in rushing with 1,216 yards.
The Eagles took down the Eagles 59-40 last week, the largest margin of any game. Nootbaar ran for 27 yards in the win.
