Belvidere North is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Wauconda is on a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Belvidere North Blue Thunder will take on the Wauconda Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Belvidere North will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Last Friday, Belvidere North strolled past Amundsen with points to spare, taking the game 38-20.
Meanwhile, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Wauconda made off with a 21-20 win over Grant Community.
Wauconda relied on the efforts of Connor Vanselow, who only rushed for 76 yards and and a rushing score, and Cole Porten, who rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Porten was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards.
Belvidere North has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Wauconda, their win bumped their record up to an identical 8-2.
