After a string of three wins, Sutherland's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap, as they fell 28-34 to Hemingford. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sutherland of the 6-51 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head. The contest pushed Sutherland down to 3-2 and pulled Hemingford up to the reverse at 2-3.
Next week Sutherland take on Perkins County at 7:30 PM. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match. Hemingford will stay at home against Bayard at 7:00 PM. Hemingford will be strutting in after a win while Bayard will be stumbling in from a loss.
