The New Brunswick Zebra's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to Dunellen. New Brunswick was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Destroyers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2019.
Dunellen got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryan Hutchins out in front who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Hutchins hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Joel Cruz, who scored nine points along with five assists.
New Brunswick dropped their record down to 6-16 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Dunellen, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
New Brunswick will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. As for Dunellen, they will head out on the road to face off against the Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
