It was a good run, but  Joliet Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their  four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took  a  2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plainfield East Bengals. The Steelmen were not able to make up for their  defeat to the Bengals from their previous meeting  back in April of 2024.
 Joliet Central was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Plainfield East work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25,  25-21.
Joliet Central's offense was headlined by  Logan Novak and  Mason Lipuma, who picked up seven kills apiece. Novak really made an impact as  he also led the team in assists with 16. Lipuma was also solid from the service line:  he led the team with four aces.
Joliet Central's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Plainfield East,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 10-13.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Joliet Central will head out to  challenge Thornton Fractional North  at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Plainfield East, they will venture away from home to  face off against Plainfield Central  at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
