Douglas County is 1-9 against Legend since September of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Huskies will square off against the Titans at 6:00 p.m.
Douglas County lost 3-0 to Mountain Vista on Tuesday.
The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-16, 25-19.
Meanwhile, Legend faced Chaparral in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Titans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Wolverines. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Legend wouldn't go down easily and took Chaparral into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-20, 14-25, 25-14, 15-11.
Douglas County better keep an eye on Breslyn Rarog. She was instrumental in Legend's win, getting 25 digs and five assists. Rarog is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 17 or more in each of the last four games she's played.
Legend's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Douglas County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Douglas County has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 10.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Legend struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Douglas County suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Legend in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
