Softball Recap: Peak to Peak Has No Trouble Against Adams City

Peak to Peak's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Adams City Eagles. The Pumas might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 11 runs or more this season.

Margot McCune made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with two runs and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Grace Trasky was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Cindy Woo, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI and two runs.

Peak to Peak always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Adams City only posted an OBP of .240.

The win snapped Peak to Peak's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-13 record. As for Adams City, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peak to Peak will welcome Jefferson Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pumas' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Adams City, they will be playing at home against Wheat Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Farmers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.72 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
