The Boswell Pioneers will take on the Mansfield Legacy Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Boswell is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victor by an 18-4 margin over Crowley on Friday. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Addy Watson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.
In other pitching news, Harley Malone looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
Back at the plate, Samantha Cruz was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Analasia Eqsuivel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one run.
Boswell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Mansfield Legacy never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against Weatherford as Mansfield Legacy made off with an 11-0 victory. Considering the Broncos have won eight matches by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Hope Gaudio, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Meredith Meredith was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Mansfield Legacy's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Boswell, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Boswell was able to grind out a solid win over Mansfield Legacy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 5-2. Will Boswell repeat their success, or does Mansfield Legacy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
