Rabun County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Elbert County 83-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Rabun County relied on the efforts of Huey Blalock, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 assists, and Cooper Welch, who scored 29 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Welch continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Hayes Free, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, even though Athens Christian scored an imposing 60 points on Tuesday, Tallulah Falls still came out on top. Tallulah Falls took their matchup against Athens Christian 72-60. The victory was all the more spectacular given Tallulah Falls' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while Athens Christian is ranked 204th).
Rabun County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season. As for Tallulah Falls, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-18.
