Axtell was outmatched by Clifton-Clyde on the road and fell 49-19. Axtell has struggled against Clifton-Clyde recently, as their game on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Clifton-Clyde to victory were Shea Wurtz and Sevy Wurtz. Wurtz scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Wurtz scored 24 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wurtz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lillian Steinbrock, who scored four points along with five assists and four steals.
Axtell's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4. As for Clifton-Clyde, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Axtell will take on Frankfort at TBD on Friday. Frankfort is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Clifton-Clyde, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hanover.
