This season hasn't been kind to the Wheaton Knights, who are still winless after their eighth game. They took a serious blow against Sherwood on Tuesday, falling 78-5. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wheaton has scored all season.
Sherwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adrianna Nnabue, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nnabue has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Thompson, who scored 15 points.
Wheaton's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.0 points per game. As for Sherwood, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.
Wheaton will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Richard Montgomery on January 26th. Richard Montgomery presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wheaton in Maryland (Richard Montgomery is ranked 84th, while Wheaton is ranked 262nd). As for Sherwood, they will be playing at home against Kennedy at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Kennedy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
