If the Kennedy Eagles were feeling good off their 56-36 takedown of Envision Academy last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Kennedy had to suffer through a rough 69-29 loss at the hands of Bethel. Kennedy has struggled against Bethel recently, as their matchup on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Kennedy saw an underclassman step up: Marvin Singleton scored 13 points.
Bethel found their leader in underclassman T. Garcia, who scored 11 points along with eight assists. That's the first time this season that Garcia posted eight or more assists. A. Garcia was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Bethel, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kennedy will face off against Albany at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Albany presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kennedy in California (Albany is ranked 323rd, while Kennedy is ranked 1067th). Bethel won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Richmond at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Richmond is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
