Bishop O'Connell gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Potomac School Panthers by a score of 6-3. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Shota Fogus looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.
On the hitting side, James Robinson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop O'Connell will take on Our Lady of Good Counsel at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Potomac School, they will challenge Maret at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
