The Ada-Borup Cougars had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They strolled past Hawley with points to spare, taking the game 66-48. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Ada-Borup also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Ada-Borup was led to victory by Austin McCraven and Charles Scholl. McCraven scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists, while Scholl scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds. Cadyn Dahl was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 3 steals.
Ada-Borup's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Hawley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ada-Borup will take on Park Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hawley, they will head out on the road to face off against Pelican Rapids at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
