Softball Recap: Cienega's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Cienega came tearing into Monday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Flowing Wells Caballeros 15-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bobcats also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Cienega got a massive performance out of Micaela Valenzuela, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Valenzuela has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last four times she's played. Allison Mullen was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Valenzuela wasn't the only one making solid contact: Cienega kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The Bobcats are a perfect 12-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Cienega pushed their record up to 17-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Flowing Wells, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Coming up, Cienega will host Catalina Foothills at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Flowing Wells will be paying especially close attention to the Bobcats' game: after the Bobcats faces off against the Falcons, they'll take on Flowing Wells again at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
