The biggest upset of the week belonged to Peyton, who took down 175th ranked Peyton, 41-6.
Buena Vista extended the longest winning streak in 1A Tri-Peaks this week by beating Custer County, 53-0. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Demons.
Buena Vista's dynamic duo of Koby Close and Trevor Close proved tough for the Bobcats to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Close threw for 170 yards and five touchdowns and Close had 75 yards receiving. Dakoda DeFurio helped Buena Vista's passing attack out by catching one ball for 56 yards.
Daniel Carr made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Demons topped Custer County. The 5-foot-11 senior grabbed 1.5 sacks.
Sean Daniels was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 260 yards on 16 carries as Rye beat Troy Bomgardner's team. Trey Zupancic also contributed to the rushing game with 119 yards on the ground.
John Mall's Bechaver Brandon and Griego Michael have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Brandon has thrown for 866 yards this season, while Michael has 20 catches for 474 yards. The Bobcats' Casey Nordyke leads the league in rushing yards with 1135.
DeFurio of the the Demons is only 51 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. DeFurio has rushed for 949 yards on 109 carries so far this year.
The Panthers made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,594 from 13,024. The advance stemmed from a 41-6 victory over the Panthers last week.
