Their defense stepped up to hand Gross Catholic  a   5-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what Mercy needed considering they were shut out in their previous   contest.
They hit Gross Catholic with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from  Genevieve Hoge (2),  Audrey Bush (2),  and  Marly Mills.
 Meanwhile, Skutt Catholic faced Duchesne in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The SkyHawks put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp  4-0 victory. The  match was close at halftime, but Skutt Catholic turned on the heat in the second half with three  goals.
 Skutt Catholic is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one  goal over those four  contests. As for Mercy, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home.
